How We Check Listings

What "Reviewed by SENDPath" actually means — and what it doesn't. Full transparency for families.

SENDPath is a directory, not a vetting service.
We help you find services that exist in Kent. We do not assess or endorse the quality of any provider. Always do your own checks before engaging any professional.

What "Listed on SENDPath" means

When you see a listing on SENDPath without a "Claimed" badge, it means the provider has been added from public sources but hasn't contacted us directly. Here is what we have done:

  • Found through public sources — professional directories, NHS service listings, Google, Kent County Council records, and other publicly available information.
  • Confirmed the website is live — we have checked that the provider's website exists and appears to offer the services described in our listing.
  • Written a short description — based entirely on publicly available information. We do not add claims that we cannot find evidence for.
  • Shown the date we last checked — every listing shows when the details were last reviewed, so you know how recent the information is.

What "Claimed listing" means

When a listing shows a "Claimed" badge, it means everything above applies, plus:

  • The provider contacted us directly — to confirm, correct, or update the details we hold about them.
  • Email verified against their professional domain — we check that the person claiming the listing is contacting us from an email address matching the provider's website domain.
  • Information reflects what the provider has told us — the description, contact details, and service areas have been confirmed or updated by the provider themselves.

A claimed listing means the provider is aware they are listed on SENDPath and has taken steps to keep their information accurate. It does not mean we have assessed their competence, qualifications, or quality of service.

What SENDPath does NOT do

We want to be upfront about the limits of what a directory can offer. SENDPath does not:

  • Check professional registrations — we do not verify whether a provider is registered with the HCPC, SRA, BPS, or any other professional body. You should always check this yourself (links below).
  • Verify insurance, DBS, or safeguarding status — we cannot confirm that a provider holds valid insurance, has current DBS checks, or meets safeguarding requirements.
  • Endorse or recommend providers — being listed on SENDPath is not a recommendation. We do not rank providers by quality or suggest one provider over another.
  • Guarantee accuracy — information can change. Providers move, close, change their services, or update their qualifications. We do our best to keep listings current, but always confirm details directly with the provider.
Always verify a professional's credentials yourself. A listing on SENDPath means we have confirmed a provider appears to exist and offer the services described. It does not mean we have checked their qualifications, registration status, or fitness to practise.

Check professional registers yourself

Before engaging any professional, we strongly recommend checking the relevant register. Here are the main ones for SEND services:

If a professional claims to be registered and you cannot find them on the relevant register, ask them directly. If you have concerns about a professional's conduct, you can raise them with the relevant regulatory body.

How providers can update their listing

If you are a provider listed on SENDPath and want to update your details, claim your listing, or correct an error, you can:

  • Claim your listing — visit our listing claim page and follow the steps. We will verify your identity against your professional domain before making changes.
  • Email us directly — send any corrections or updates to hello@sendpath.uk. Please use your professional email address so we can verify who you are.

We aim to process updates within a few working days. If you believe a listing contains inaccurate or misleading information, please let us know and we will review it promptly.

Our editorial code: "Rights First, Commerce Second."
Listings exist to help families find services. Providers cannot pay for placement, ranking, or favourable descriptions. Every listing follows the same standards.
